"Klövasten" in Österlen, Sweden

On an open field in southern Sweden, there is a massive rock split into two parts. Every day on my way to school, I would pass by it. For me, the space between the rock halves always held a mysterious, almost frightening presence, intensified by an old folk tale that warned anyone who ventured into the gap could be crushed. Each time I passed, a cold shiver ran down my spine at the thought of stepping into that void.

As a sculptor, I am captivated by the interplay between form and emptiness, and the tension that exists between two objects. I am intrigued by how "nothing" can become "something" and how the act of removal can make a powerful statement.

With this sculpture titled ‘Between’, I invite you to explore the space between the two halves of the face, letting your own interpretation complete the piece. Your perspective will breathe new life into its evolving story.
